A European Escapade - Vasal Education’s unforgettable expedition through the cities of Europe.

At Vasal Education, we believe in the power of experiential learning to transform students’ lives. We do so by giving them access to once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that give them the right exposure to the way of the world. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting an incredible educational journey for students from Ivy World School, Jalandhar, Cambridge International School, Dasuya and GEMS Cambridge International School, Hoshiarpur. For 6 days and 7 nights, our students had the chance to live and breathe the air of Europe as they travelled across Brussels and Paris, immersing themselves in the culture and getting first-hand experiences that can never be replicated in a classroom.

A journey through Brussels and Paris

Their adventure began in Brussels, the heart of European politics and culture. They walked through the vibrant tapestry of the city, visiting iconic spots like the Grand-Place, the Manneken Pis Statue, the Hergé Museum, Mini Europe and the Euro Space Center. With each new destination, they immersed themselves in the cultural significance of each site, thereby broadening their mind’s horizons and gaining insights into Brussels’ diverse heritage. The guided tours and interactive media projects further enhanced their experience, connecting classroom knowledge with real-world contexts.

In Paris, they rendezvoused with the Mona Lisa herself alongside other renowned artworks that are showcased at the Louvre Museum. Their adventure across the City of Light continued with a focus on the city’s artistic and historical treasures, the architectural splendour of the Eiffel Tower and the rich history encapsulated in landmarks like the Latin Quarter, Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde provided profound learning opportunities. Guided tours offered deep dives into Parisian history and politics, enhancing students’ appreciation of the city’s significance.

During their European adventure, our students explored the Hergé Museum, where they delved into the creative world of Tintin’s creator, Georges Remi, gaining insights into his iconic art and storytelling. At the Euro Space Center, their curiosity about space was ignited through hands-on activities, astronaut training simulations and immersive exhibits on space exploration, making these visits both educational and inspiring.

A memorable encounter

A standout moment of the trip was a special meeting with Mr. Jawed Ashraf, the High Commissioner of India to France. The students enjoyed a cordial interaction and a delightful high tea hosted by Mr. Ashraf, which added a personal and diplomatic touch to their European experience.

Transformative learning experiences

Throughout the trip, educators and mentors facilitated engaging activities that bridged classroom learning with real-world experiences. Discussions on European history, political landscapes and cultural diversity were complemented by reflective journaling and group projects. These activities encouraged students to apply their knowledge and critical thinking skills in practical contexts, fostering a deeper understanding of their studies.

Commitment to excellence

This educational journey exemplified Vasal Education’s commitment to providing transformative experiences for our students. The trip was meticulously planned to ensure safety, comfort and cultural immersion, with careful attention to accommodations, food and educational enrichment. Parental support and collaboration with local guides and experts played a crucial role in making the journey memorable and impactful.

Reflections from our leaders and students

In his address, Shri Sanjeev Kumar Vasal Ji, Chairman of Vasal Education and Mrs. Ena Vasal, President, highlighted the significance of such trips in uncovering students’ hidden talents and capabilities. They emphasised the role of experiential learning in school education and the invaluable life lessons gained through these travels. The CEO of Vasal Education praised the immersive nature of the trip, noting that students learned valuable lessons in teamwork and leadership while navigating life away from home.

The students expressed how important it is to have experiences like these to be equipped to step into an ever-changing world. They also reflected on the memories they made and described the trip as a privilege and one of the most cherished experiences of their lives. The journey not only broadened their horizons but also fostered a sense of global citizenship and cultural appreciation.
